To welcome the Lunar New Year in 2026, Festival Walk will proudly present 《Festival Walk SOU・SOU x fatBottleland – THE GARDEN STORY》at LG2 from 6 February to 1 March. This New Year project collaborates with SOU・SOU, a Japanese Kyoto creative brand, and fatBottle, a popular cute character. The limited-edition collaboration pattern of SOU・SOU x fatBottleland will debut! Ivana, the creator of fatBottle, showcases her talent by writing a poem for this collaboration, bringing the dream world in the poem to Festival Walk as the inspiration for the garden decoration. The poetic words turn into an imaginative magical garden filled with gigantic fatBottle rabbits and SOU・SOU classic designs, allowing visitors to embrace the new year with a peaceful and happy mind in a relaxing and delightful atmosphere.
During the event, there will be a pop-up store selling Japanese SOU・SOU products, and three gigantic fatBottle Daruma dolls in front of the store will bring sincere New Year blessings to every visitor! My FESTIVAL members can exclusively redeem the Festival Walk limited-edition SOU・SOU x fatBottleland red pocket set and homeware set, adding extra value to the festival for collection and gifting.
A Garden Story Interweaving Kyoto Design Aesthetics and the Innocence of fatBottle Rabbit
SOU・SOU is a design brand from Kyoto, founded by pattern designer Katsuji Wakisaka, architect Hisanobu Tsujimura, and producer Ram Lam Kong, with the core concept of 'creating a new Japanese culture'. It fuses Kyoto's traditional patterns with modern design language, drawing inspiration from the four seasons in Japan and reinterpretating Japanese aesthetic through repetitive, stacked, and rhythmic patterns. The brand insists on Japanese production and continues to use a variety of traditional handicrafts to preserve cultural roots in innovation.
In Ivana's artistic world, fatBottle is a symbol of the inner child, carrying curiosity, gentleness, and courage, accompanying everyone in exploring the world and growing up. She may be timid, but she always aspires to be strong and responds to life with kindness. Over the years, fatBottle has brought strength and hope to audiences of all ages through art installations, visual creations, and music videos, especially blessings and positive energy during the New Year.
The design inspiration comes from the poem written by Ivana for SOU・SOU x fatBottleland at the invitation of Festival Walk, transforming the dream world in the poem into a three-dimensional art space. The table, cherries, cherry blossom trees, flowing water, flower rain, and music in the poem turn into a strollable garden world, allowing people to feel the peaceful and abundant beauty of life and setting the style and soul of the entire exhibition.
New Year Garden Exhibition: A Stroll Through Blessings and Blooming Scenery
The garden decoration features five classic patterns selected from SOU・SOU, including the iconic 'SO-SU-U Numbers', 'Smile', 'Bloom', 'Konpeito', and 'Cat'. fatBottle also appears in different corners of the garden, sitting or lying down, enjoying this New Year garden with childlike curiosity and inviting everyone to slow down and appreciate the peaceful garden world.
In addition, there will be a mini-exhibition displaying limited-edition collections from SOU・SOU and fatBottleland, which cannot be missed! Also, the cat from the 'Cat' pattern is hiding in different corners of the garden, playing a game of hide-and-seek with visitors. Those who successfully find all the cats will surely have a prosperous and bright year ahead!
Pop-up Store: Extending New Year Blessings to Daily Life
The pop-up store follows the design of the SOU・SOU Kyoto flagship store, featuring a traditional Japanese wooden house space. In front of the store, three gigantic Daruma-style fatBottle dolls are hidden in the tall grass, each wearing SOU・SOU classic pattern clothing, becoming the 'best models' for the store. The store offers a wide range of products, from daily clothing to furniture and ornaments, making it an ideal place for New Year gifting.
